Frequently Asked Questions
What is an A member?
The Association is made up of A and B members.  When you buy a home in Chestnut Hill, you become an A member and are responsible for yearly assessments (dues) to fund the Association. A members have full privileges to the Amenities.
What is a B member? How can I become a B member?
B member Association members are only responsible for the general fund assessments (dues).  The B member homeowners do not have access to the swim and tennis facilities, and thus they do not pay the recreation fees to support those amenities.  You can no longer elect to be a B member.  Some homeowners were grandfathered in as B members, but as the homes sell, all new homeowners are required to join as A members.  There are approximately 80 remaining homes in the neighborhood that are B members.
I’m a B member. How do I become an A member?
To become an A member and thus begin use of the swim and tennis facilities, simply contact the Association's accountant and request a Conversion form and the pro-rata amount of recreational fees due . Complete the Conversion form, notarize it, include check made payable to CHHA for the pro-rata amount and mail it to the Association PO Box. Once received, you will be contacted by our welcoming committee with keys and passes to the recreational facility.  Once you become an A member, you can not revert to a B membership.
What are General Fund Dues used for?
Currently, the General Fund provides budgets for maintaining the association’s property (ie the clubhouse, landscaping).  This money is also used for special projects such as new signs, or new playground equipment.  General Fund money is also used to fund reserves to repair and replace amenities.
What are the Recreation Fund Dues used for?
Currently, the Recreational Fund dues cover costs associated with maintenance and operation of the pool and tennis courts.  For example, the lifeguards and utility bills for the tennis courts.
